JAKARTA TRIP 2008

JAKARTA TRIPPOO!
Well this is the story of amazing experience of me and my partners in crime (nyeheheheh)
Getting bored with bold and heavy posts? Now enjoy this!

Started from these crazy creatures' idea:
EXPLORING JAKARTA BY TRANSJAKARTA BUS

Annisa Ferani Arifin
Anissa Indiwara
Amadea Hasian
Maria Andisa Mayangsari
Syalomitha Dimitry Hukom
Devita Rahma Fitria

from just light talks and determination to make that dream comes true (whattheheck), we really did JAKARTA TRIP on March 24th, 2008
We planned to pretend to be such homeless peoples, walking around this crowded and dreadful Jakarta (with the traffic and the hot temperature, actually) without any adult adviser or map, and no extra money (we agreed to bring money under IDR 75.000)

Our meeting point was Indi's crib, located on Panglima Polim.
#1 dumb accident:
andisa: "ndi do you have TIKER? (the "TIKER" I was talking about was our school's magazine "tempat ide dan kreativitas")
indi: "I'm not really sure, let me ask Makmi (her lovely nanny)"
-talked with makmi, then went back to dining room-
indi: "she said better that we use newspaper, tiker (some kind of a rug made from bamboo sheets) is too heavy"
-all proceeded indi's word-
nisa: "ndi, I think you were misunderstood, andisa asked about our school's TIKER, which we can use as guidance for this trip, not for sitting down"
-all laughed until tears ran out-

what was so funny about that accident, Indi's dumb and innocent face.

after other dumbies came, dea, mitha and rahma, we went to Blok M Terminal, caught a bus and were being 'kampoengan' (villager) by got overjoyed using the Transjakarta ticket bus.
That was my-and sort of other dumbies'- first experience transporting by that huge thing with the "Kacang Garuda" icon. It was pretty neat and clean bus, made you enjoy your trip through Jakarta. The traffic myth (which said that Transjakarta Bus will not touched by any traffic jam) was not really accurate, in fact they had their own way- which called Busway.

The first stop, as my lame memory recorded, was Museum Gajah. Unfortunately, that day was Monday and some of museums in Jakarta close on that day, out of our knowledge. Driven by hunger, we were searching for the nearest restaurant, for a meal. So we caught a taxi (note: for 6 dumbies) and arrived at a Plaza (can't remember the name).

Mcd! Our stomach cheered. We spoiled our appetite before continue our trip.
Filled with junks, the dumbies went to Monumen Nasional- Monas, took pictures and went to the top of Monas-where the giant gold stood bravely and confidently without any worry of thieves (who will steal you, anyway)- also met a group of elementary school which on their study tour (cuties!).

After Monas, the next destination was Kota Tua.
But we only entertained our eyes and feet, because once again, it was Monday.
Now we were sure homeless peoples, sleeping around at the terrace of a poetry museum, taking a very short rest.
It felt quite good actually :)

We left Kota Tua and went to home direction.
In Transjakarta Bus, we were discussing about Ragusa and Taman Menteng, which one would be our next stop.
After long discussion, hunger won. We went to Ragusa- treated by rahma, who voted for Ragusa the most.
There was no regret visiting Ragusa Ice Cream- an old fashioned ice cream from Italia (called 'gelato'), the taste was great, tasted like heaven in our mouth.

We agreed to end the trip and went back home.
In front of the terminal, we took a picture of dumbies-with exhausted faces- and a balloon as a dramatical effect, made we seemed like real homeless dumbies.

Hope the next Jakarta Trip- or other city in Indonesia trip.
